MgO Systems has long believed that the way build needs to change, and the new building code seems to agree. We here at MgO Systems think that this is the first step to a greener safer future and we are excited to see where this path is leading.
While there are many different codes changing, the two that specifically relate to us, and we are the most excited about are the following;
- New structural design rules for buildings to take into account the changing climate should be ready for adoption by the 2025 building code.
- New standards for basement flood protection, which came into effect after the briefing was prepared. (CBC News)
MgO Systems has been pushing for changes like these since the house fire that started this company. Many of our staff and founders have faced disasters like the ones that the new building code is working to protect against which is why we build our construction technologies to standards higher than the current code.
